Collection: Marc Andre Art

Artist Bio:
Marc Andre's artistic exploration delves into the uncharted territories of our comfort zones. Drawing inspiration from neo-expressionist influences, his work embodies a figurative style reminiscent of Benin's portraits and sculptures, all while infusing it with a vibrant and invigorating energy. Through his playful approach to mark-making, Andre rekindles the purity of childhood creativity. By channeling a playful flirtation with mark-making, Andre shows us that childhood creativity is “as pure as it gets”.

Born on August 13, 1999, in Toulouse, France, Marc Andre's formative years were filled with worldly experiences, as he roamed the globe with his mother, immersing himself in the rich tapestry of Pan-African art displayed in museums. These encounters left an indelible mark on his artistic journey.

In his latest collection, Andre eloquently translates his passion for painting and drawing into a contemporary interpretation of the African aesthetic, offering a fresh perspective to the world of art. Currently based in the vibrant backdrop of New York City, he continues to explore the boundaries of his creativity.

From the onset of his artistic journey, Marc Andre made a remarkable impression. His works have been featured in prestigious collections, including those of Westside Gunn, Tim Okamura, and Julia Lang. His meteoric rise culminated in an exhibition at the Hamptons art fair following his debut solo showcase, "African Inferno," hosted at Doordoor Gallery in Brooklyn. Notably, he garnered attention with a packed exhibition, "Banned From The Gallery," in Chelsea, Manhattan, just last November. This summer, he ventured to the West Coast for his inaugural exhibition, "UMI SAYS," in Seattle.

Beyond his visual artistry, Marc Andre is a multifaceted talent and creative, showcasing his skills as a musician, rapper, producer, and model. His modeling career has graced the runways of prestigious fashion shows, including Heron Preston, Yohji Yamamoto, and Yeezy Season 3 at Madison Square Garden.
